Irish rugby international Cian Healy has been forced to apologise after he offended Repeal the 8th campaigners with a remark he made about the “blue wall” last night.
A Repeal the Eighth mural in Dublin city centre, painted by Irish artist Maser, was removed from the front wall of the Project Arts Centre following a warning notice from Dublin City Council.
The artwork was painted over in blue, and a number of campaigners have been posting photographs of themselves in front of it to highlight the issue.
Last night, the rugby star tweeted: "Ya ain't alternative unless you're in front of a blue wall these days". He ended the tweet with an eyeroll emoji.

But this morning Healy deleted the tweet and claimed that he didn’t know what the blue wall was.
Project Arts Centre said they had received over 200 letters of support for the artwork along with 50 complaints.
The Pro Life Campaign responded to the removal of the mural by claiming the installation had "nothing to do with art".
“The right decision has been taken to remove this highly political mural which had everything to do with campaigning and nothing to do with art,” Cora Sherlock of the Pro Life Campaign said in a statement.
